
Since our formal launch in 2007 UPSI at Cardiff University has secured in excess of £1.5million of external research funding. The studies conducted have utilized a range of different research methods including: ethnographic observation; analysis of quantitative survey data; and interviews.
South Wales Police – have adopted UPSI’s Neighbourhood Security Interview Methodology and are in the process of ‘rolling it out’ across the whole of their police force area.
City of London / Metropolitan Police – the Business Policing Model project is looking to radically transform how police engage and interact with business communities in order to better meet their needs. (Read a story on this work in the Financial Times)
Community Cohesion in Wales – UPSI were commissioned by the Welsh Assembly Government to conduct an analysis of the British Crime Survey and the Living in Wales Survey in order to examine the causes and consequences of community cohesion (Read the full report here)
